JSC "BOR" HAS NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Igor Popov, 46, became fourth executive director appointed during this year in "Bor" mining and ore enriching company (Dalnegorsk, Primorsky Krai).

Earlier he lead "Siberia-Alliance" oil company based in Raduzhnyi. His predecessor Aleksandr Sazhnov accepted an offer to organize in Moscow one of Russia's three self-regulating associations of crisis managers.

Bor was out of operation in October for scheduled repairs, and now its monthly output exceeds 9,000 tons of boric acid. Bailout manager Aleksandr Karlin and his team succeeded in relieving social tension at the company whose staff number is nearly 5,000. Earlier, Bor workers intended to walk out in late October to protest against two-month wage arrears. - Tatiana KUROCHKINA.


RUSSIAN-CHINESE PROJECT LAUNCHED TO SUPPORT BUSINESS INITIATIVE

Primorye Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Chinese company "Yun Bao" representing form Yunnan Province representing "Winbody" trademark announced a contest of business plans under the title "How would you open your own business with a starting capital of 10 million rubles?"

By words of Larisa Yermolina, vice chairperson of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, this contest is aimed at identifying most successful strategies in opening business. Project life is December 1 - May 1. The best project will be selected by a commission that includes three Chinese representatives. Winners will receive 12 prizes. Main prize will be a two-week tour to Chinese city Chidin or 150,000 rubles. Total prize fund is 450,000 rubles. - Larisa OREL.

LUCHEGORSK COAL MINE PURCHASED NEW MACHINERY

Luchegorsk open-pit coal mine plans to deliver over 6 million tons of coal to Primorskaya GRES power plant in this year. To this purpose, the mine purchased four 130-tonne BELAZ dump trucks. Earlier, it used 42-tonne trucks.

The new trucks will be used at Luchegorsky-2 mine, which is expected to receive a Japanese quarry excavator "Hitachi" by year's end. New machinery will allow intensify overburden removal, and this mine plans to produce 200,000 tons of coal already in this December. - Yevgeny PETROV.

KOOKMIN BANK BECAME NEW PARTNER OF PRIMSOTSBANK

Primsotsbank opened a correspondent account at Kookmin Bank, one of largest in South Korea.

WALKOUT PROHIBITED TO AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS

Primorye transport prosecutor inquired into the strike announced by Vladivostok airport traffic controllers and warned that this action will violate law. Primorsky Krai court also ruled this action planned on November 30 unlawful.

The decision to conduct a 24-hour warning walkout of air traffic controllers on November 30 was made bythe executive committee of air traffic controllers' labour union with a headquarters in Moscow

Air traffic controllers require to double their wages, to give an additional leave and discounts on air tickets, free meals during work time and treatment in sanitariums and at resorts. Vladivostok labour union committee supported this decision, announced that it will join the action and decided to stop providing services to scheduled flights of Russian airlines on November 30. - Tatiana KOZINA.
